When you access this website or use it to obtain conveyancing services the following terms and conditions apply. If you do not agree with these terms and conditions or if you are under 18 years of age please do not use this website.
-
Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000
- Since you are a consumer (i.e. a person not instructing the solicitors for the purpose of your business) and your instructions have not been given to the solicitors at a face to face meeting, the above Regulations apply and by submitting the e-mail instructions to the solicitors you are confirming that you accept and understand these Terms of Business.
- You have the right to cancel your instructions, without any cost to you, within seven working days of the solicitors receiving the e-mail instructions. You would cancel the agreement by either delivering a note cancelling your instructions to the solicitors' offices or by sending it to the solicitors by post, fax or e-mail.
- You may not, however, cancel the agreement without incurring any cost once the solicitors have, with your permission, started to do the work on your behalf within these first seven days. By submitting the e-mail instructions, you are agreeing that, to avoid delay in the transaction, the solicitors may start work on your behalf straightaway and do not have to wait for the cancellation period to expire.
- The solicitors shall carry out your instructions as efficiently as possible, but the nature of conveyancing means that they are unlikely to be able to perform the contract within the maximum period of 30 days as laid down by the Regulations. By submitting the e-mail instructions to the solicitors you are therefore agreeing that they need not perform the contract within a maximum of 30 days.
- The legal fees quoted on this site relate to standard conveyancing work. They do not apply to any additional legal work that may be required and Askews shall be entitled to make additional charges for such work. You will be informed in writing of any additional charges.
- Only the fees charged by Askews are fixed, (subject to condition 2). All other payments to third parties (these payments are known as disbursements) may vary.
- The services available through this website are only available for properties within England and Wales
- Subject to the provisions of clause 1 you have the right to cancel your instructions to Askews at any time. Once your instructions have been confirmed by Askews, if you wish to end your instructions you will have to pay Askews for the work that they have done up to the date of cancellation together with any disbursements paid by Askews on your behalf.
- If you have chosen the no completion no fee insurance (NCNFI) then you will not be charged any legal fees for transactions that do not go to completion for any reason. It does not indemnify you against any disbursements that may have been paid out on your behalf or extra work that has been undertaken with your permission.
- Your use of this site and this Agreement is subject to the laws of England and Wales.
